If Yahoo finds too many unsuccessful sign-in attempts from the unknown locations, then Yahoo temporarily will block your account for security purpose. Although, Yahoo lifts this block after 12 hours, you can’t do anything to get into the account until the 12 hours pass.

Sometime you must have noticed that you just can’t change the password of your Yahoo account. If you have recently updated any recovery option then, it might be possible that you won’t be able to change the password. It is recommended that you wait for a few hours, sign-in again. Delete the cache, cookies and temporary files of the system and browser and try again it shall work perfectly fine.
